Do You Guarantee the File's Quality?
  No, we cannot guarantee all the locations in the file. As you use your GPS, you will find errors in the built-in POI database as well, and that data is produced by the resources of huge multi-national corporations. For the modest cost of our files, you will receive data that is frequently updated from the best sources in the industry and developed using some of the best geocoding tools available in the industry. It is more timely than the data built-in to your GPS and as accurate as possible given the current tools available.
How Do GPS Custom POI Files Work?
 
First, ensure that you have a GPS that is compatible with consumer-installed files. Terms you may see used by various manufacturers include "custom POI files" and "proximity alerts." Most Garmin automotive GPS models sold in the last 3 years include this capability, as do recent devices from TomTom, Magellan, Navigon, Destinator and others. Our site functions like most other online shopping sites function. Browse our online store, add the product(s) you like to your shopping cart, checkout of the shopping cart and pay for your purchase. We accept credit cards only, and use PayPal as our merchant account processor.

When you checkout of your shopping cart, our system will generate a receipt that will be emailed to you. Once you complete the PayPal payment process, the second email you will receive will be a payment receipt from PayPal.  Once PayPal has received your payment, our system will automatically enable your download link using your account in our online store.

The file(s) that you download from our website are industry standard ZIP files. In order to install the GPS files you must unzip the file you downloaded. Unzip capability is built into most recent versions of Windows. You can also download free utilities to unzip the file on numerous Internet sites such as CNet Download.

Once you unzip your purchased file(s), you will find multiple files inside. The license agreement explains legal uses of our product. Several PDF files provide helpful step-by-step directions for installing the product on the most common GPS devices. Finally, you will also find the files for installation to your GPS.

The exact procedure for installing the files on your GPS varies greatly depending on the specific brand of GPS device. These procedures are defined by the GPS manufacturers, each of which provide documentation on their respective website for installing these files. Please consult that documentation in addition to the instructions that we provide. There is no automatic process for installing the files. There is not a "setup" file for you to click. You must follow the step-by-step instructions defined by your GPS manufacturer.

  GPS devices come with varying amounts of built-in POI data. Depending on the manufacturer and price of your GPS, it may contain anywhere from 1 million to over 10 million points of interest. Regardless of the size of the POI database, the data is typically 12 to 24 months old the minute you open the box because of the number of companies involved and the time it takes to develop the data. If your favorite brands are fast growing brands, located in fast growing regions of the Country, there is little chance of those locations showing up in your GPS for years to come.
